House of Vetiver
A community-led brand which empowers people, regenerates landscapes, and brings hand-crafted products to you which are 100% natural, made from vetiver grass.
House of Vetiver is a community brand which developed and was formed during and after the first Vetiver Education & Empowerment Project (VEEP) in Paramin, which was implemented from 2016-2017 with support from the UNDP GEF Small Grants Programme. The brand and initiative has come a long way since then, supported by IAMovement through other similar projects over the years, and has now become a brand and organization which “assists vetiver crafting communities to create and maintain sustainable livelihoods by channeling their wide range of products to the market.” As is further stated on the House of Vetiver website, “Every purchase of a House of Vetiver product empowers and supports these communities in various localities around the Caribbean.”
This page features photos of some of the House of Vetiver community programme activities led by IAMovement over the years with support of other key partners like the IDB Lab, the Green Fund, and the Pan American Development Foundation (PADF). A short video capturing the story of the House of Vetiver can also be found below, and more can be learned on the House of Vetiver website and other relevant project pages which supported HOV development activities over the years.
You can click here to view different House of Vetiver products available for purchase, and opportunities to partner with IAMovement and the House of Vetiver to further develop these activities in Trinidad & Tobago and the Caribbean can be explored here.
